Photo of the day!

These photos are from a recent charity event out in New Smyrna at Erie surfboards factory. The Amy Roots rail jam is a fund raiser for Amy, a small girl, who was hit by a truck on her scooter over a month ago and is now trying to make a quick recovery. The turn out for this even was very high, everyone was there to support Amy and her family. Lots of wakeskaters showed up as well, ready to throw down some hammers for the crowd. With a fairly long start pool and the choice of hitting the gap or flat bar at the end, the wakeskaters began putting there bodies on the line. Landing a boardslide off that rail was a feat in itself. George Daniels managed to front board to fakie and BT hit the board slide 270 shuv out. Going down the gap Nick Dauzat nailed a perfectly clean back one, while Marcus Knox could not have been closer to landing a shuv, Josh Kirby and Travis Doran couldn't quite ride away from the kickflips. All in all the event was super fun and went down with out a hitch. I just want to say thanks to Erie Surfboards for putting this even on and Good luck to you Amy Root, my prayers are with you!

Photo of the day!

Busting out the housing and taking to the water is one of my favorite ways to shoot. Being in the water with the rider and being able to be so close to the action is what is appealing to me. Being in the water offers a different perspective than the usual from shore or chase boat shot. It enables you to get the perspective only a ripple on the water's surface gets to enjoy. This photo is of Aaron Abel out at The Projects on the S2. The vividness of Aaron and his board against the darkening sky and the reflection in the water is what catches my attention in this photo.

Photo of the day!

A recent trip to Aaron Rathy's house was defiantly an interesting one. Shennanigans in Pwielands egg beater of an Isuzu that couldn't go over 50 mph was an adventure in itself. Not knowing where or when it is gonna break down is an adrenaline rush in its own. But with a call from Rathy saying that the lake is "butter" our spirits immediately rose. With no clouds in the sky and the golden hour just around the corner, we were excited to shoot to say the least. Upon arriving at Rathy's house, we walked out back only to notice 20 mph winds had just swept over the lake, engulfing it in a knee high chop. We preceded to go out to try and find the non-existent glassy spot only the lake. With no luck Aaron charged it through the chop. I couldn't believe my eyes, he was throwing down absolute hammers in a two foot chop with his hair dry as can be. This kid kills it on a wakeboard, I can't wait to see what he has in store for the future.

Attention!!!!

We have a contest going on at one of my fellow photographers website! Its a tough one but give it a shot! Great prize if you win.

Photo of the day!

Here is a photo I took a couple weeks ago at the end of my trek to the top of the Jupiter Lighthouse. In this photo you are looking over the beautiful Jupiter inlet and the very north end of Jupiter Island, called Jupiter Inlet colony. This was the first time I had climbed the Jupiter Lighthouse in the 15 years that I have lived in Tequesta. I wish I didn't wait so long to climb this landmark. If you ever have the chance to climb the lighthouse, do it. The view from up there is astounding, you can see all the way past Hobe sound and all the way to West Palm Beach.

Not so good. and photo of the day

Today the waves were terrible. Found a new funky song, check it.

Well conner, dirk and me finally got to take a little skurf session. It's been way too long. I decided to take some photos because the light was money and Conner can work a skim.

Tomorrow morning

I am going to be waking up bright and early to get some surfing photos. Should be some really awesome waves. I might even hop in the water and use the housing.
